13mm climbing ropes

[V6 WRA]

Looking at ropes for a chap that does a little bit of climbing for me.

 

Wants a 13mm really.

 

Will be using Prussik / blakes / trying to convert him to hitch climber

 

Any recommendations?

 

Marlow gecko?

 

NE Hi vee?

 

Yale Xtc?

The XTC and the Hi Vee are both fantastic ropes.

I like Samson Arbormaster. Not sure if it is available on your side of the pond. I see they have a CE marked version so it should be.

Stay away from Marlow Gecko - I have it and it's not great! XTC can be had for around the same price and it's so much better.

I've used new England and xtc, both good ropes. Have a length of samson arbormaster as a log strop at the moment, it seems very stiff to me, not sure I'd like it as a main line.

 

My current main line is Liros Ignite 13mm from honey bros, really like it with hitch climber ☺
