Ringing potential customers on a Sunday

I'm the other side of the argument. I don't do any work on Sundays these days. I have 2clients I will go and discuss work with as they're in the City all week, but that's it. There's 6 other days available for work, if you can't earn it in those days the 7th will make no difference. Personally, I won't answer the phones on a

Sunday, I have an answer phone and messages will be picked up Monday. Healthwise, all we hear about is how Stress is a big health issue, learning to take time out and switch off the work mode is the best way of combating stress, you can't do this if you're chasing your tail seven days a week.

Family life deteriorates if you're too busy to stop and spend time with them.

Erosion of bank Holidays, Sundays off etc have eaten into the working persons free time, for rest and relaxation, or in some cases religious reasons. I think it's becoming detrimental to health and welfare of the workforce.

After 11AM and before 9PM for phone calls is absolutely fine on a sunday, IMO.

Hard to argue that it is indeed pretty much a "7 days a week" society that we live in but happily not everyone within it is a "7 days a week" person just yet.

 

Just because something is majority opinion doesn't mean everyone has to conform to it.

I have customers ringing me at 9am on a Sunday morning to place log orders which does get my goat. I wouldn't mind if as others have said it was after 11am. It's not that important that they have to ring so early on a Sunday.

I'd agree with this and Andy's post. There's very little in life that can't wait until Monday. I work to live, not live to work.

 

I'd not ring anyone on a Sunday and wouldn't appreciate anyne calling me on a Sunday. It's bad enough anyone ringing after tea during the week......

We use a answer machine which also allows us to hear the callers message before answering.

I'm all for a good work life balance, but why Sunday?? I prefer to take days off the suit me best, not stick to an antiquated throw back to a very different world. Once my children are grown up I think I will move to only working on dry days, which ever days they happen to be.

 

I really like the convenience of B&Q and many other retailers being open the extended hours they are, it freedom to pick and chose when I work or not.

Same here in Germany and the bank holidays aswell . The bank holidays back in Britain just seem like any other day. eg people rushing around to DIY markets and stuff.
