Well I do fencing aswell and where I live just for meterial is arond 2k pluss so your about right just leve it to them m8

They are getting other quotes done this week. forgot to say they wanted the work completed by the middle of next week. when I went to quote for it I asked what there budget was so that I could tell them what could be done within there budget but they wouldn't say. There is also 25x concrete posts and wire to be removed.

 

good luck to them just bugs me a bit is all as they expect me to work for nothing is the jists of it I think

 

 

Who on earth could quote this week and get started by the middle of next week, Most fencers around here are booked solid for a couple months at least.

I find people either have a realistic budget for fencing or its about £10 a metre budget.

round here i would not put up close board for less than £60.00 a meter you are being more tham fair i would not do it for anywhere near that price

£60 A METER , plus gate and fitting, plus trellis, id be looking around the 4k mark,without taking out the old fencing !!, nothing wrong with your pricing mate

What's the point in getting hacked off at this point. If you don't get the job, they pay out and nothing lost. If they get back to you at your quoted price, you get what you quoted for, even if that's not what you would have as an ideal. It helps if you like the people you work for but when it comes down to it, it's a job and food on your plate. Not a popularity contest.

I would say that your price is to cheap mates rates are a nightmare try asking the bank manager for mates rate when the mortgage is due

Just to echo everyone else (and whilst I have no experience fencing except for myself) I think you're very keenly priced. Stick to you guns, don't be haggled down. I often find that the customers who are least organised in terms of timescale (ie for me, they want the bespoke cut, kiln dried timber in 4 days) are also the ones that haggle on price.

At that price id sit down again and look at the figures you put together, you cant be making much if at all anything
