I drive past you on the way home bu as I'm always on the way to collect the kids or other goblins have got there first never collected any.  I do know others at work here in Guildford though that get their supplies by collecting from you.

When you are splitting for home use time is not so much of a problem and using a maul on the tough stuff is good exercise for us office workers :) Free is free after all.

:laugh1:

There may well be a better grade of logwood available behind those gates for forum members , pm me if you need a few sticks and I will put them to one side.

Just a thought Bob, why do you not get someone in every now and again to take for biomass for 15£ per ton or so?

We used to Chris but the return for handling it is poor when you consider the time, labour, machinery and yard space involved. Ok as a totally separate business no doubt but most that have got involved in that game around here have given up and those that stockpile it for chip are tripping over the stuff.

Edit: just been out there and that lot has nearly gone, just a few chogs left :)

Forgot to mention that all these chogs are only from domestics, its not always possible to drag sticks out of Mrs Miggins garden:)

Timber we cut on site does go straight off for biomass or log wood no matter how small.

aspenarb you sure are a generous person giving so much away all the time...I would have to at the least put a donation to charity box there ...if not then for your own beer fund box.

It is a waste product.  Value is zero.  It is unprocessed, unseasoned, mixed species, mixed sizes varied splitability.  Yes it could be processed, dried and delivered to customers but if that is not your business then just give it away.  Very sensible.  Even if he set a nominal price say £10 per car load how much time would that take to deal with all the customers and enquiries?

I wish I could do the same for sawdust.....!

Sawdust has value to those that need it ?

(When I get a spare day) I need to crack on with biomass pellet production - I source the sawdust from a buddy’s mill (waste to him - valuable input resource to me)

One mans trash is another mans treasure - tricky bit is joining the 2 up ?

I bought this several years ago:

30kg/hr and runs of solar PV array in Summer.

Waste sawdust into Winter fuel ??
