Cold Pasta - does anybody eat it?

I'd eat my own pasta, cold.

 

It's someone else's cold pasta I find less appealing. Like the dashboard ketchup trove, the stuff has an uncertain history, and there's nowhere for the absent flavour not to hide.

 

(For a pasta sauce that retains it's character in tepid climes, you have to start by dissolving a couple of anchovies in a splash of oil. And perhaps add a spray of mustard seeds. Followed by a dash of balsamic. Then you're winning.)

Perhaps getting closer here -- at least your building flavour in.....

I have been trying pasta with fried off pepper and parmesan - which seems to be classic italian recipe - but it's not thrilling me

I found Marmite at a specialty shop a couple weeks ago, and tasted a spoon of it. OMG. Might have been the worst thing I have ever tasted. How do you guys turn your noses up at cold pasta or garlic bread but eat Marmite????

 

 

You should try English mustard... I dare you to do a spoonful of that :lol:

Yes, English mustard is definitely hot :lol:

 

Though I will say you tried marmite wrong. Spread it on toasted crumpets and melt cheese on top!

So, according to scientist Dr Denise Robertson, from the University of Surrey, if you cook and cool pasta down then your body will treat it much more like fibre, creating a smaller glucose peak and helping feed the good bacteria that reside down in your gut. You will also absorb fewer calories, making this a win-win situation.
