Single or double

So who would recommend the single rope or the double rope? I normally will use single rope if I'm doing tree removals then use double for trimmings.

I am the opposite, generally using single for trims and doubled for removals. Not a hard and fast rule though as sometimes it's just as easy to use doubled on a trim and single on a removal.

I'll just approach each tree as it comes and use the best tool for the job, no need to be single minded in approach.

I have used srt in nearly everything the last four or so years. The only time that ddrt was at an advantage was in a big leggy Poplar to get out to the tips. Redirects on srt weren't worth using as I was only removing the lower half of the canopy before knocking the tree over.

Since getting starting on SRT, and getting proficient at it, I've used DDrT a few times because I thought it would be easier in that case.

I was surprised every time to find it a total nightmare. This was just because by muscle memory and brain had adapted to the single line technique.

That's just my experience, I'm not saying it's the law so don't start arguing.

But DDRT is 2x safer than SRT...

...and that is the law! :P:D
