Boot dryer

Has anyone ever tried these electronic boot dryers?

As I don't have a open fire to damage them by lol or a warm cupboard, was hoping something like these May do the job,

Try a lot of news paper stuffed inside and place them by an open window; although the boot driers do look nice.......

Yeah newspaper is my normal approach :-) although it doesn't quite cut I when they are soaked through lol

Had something similar and they were pants. Totally useless. If you're getting a boot drier get one that blows hot air into them, have one I picked up in Norway years ago and comes out every winter.

i have a pair. work ok. they are fab in the winter as you have nice toastie boots in the morning. better than leaving sat on a radiator stinking the house out and leaving muddy marks on the wall.

I've got a pair very similar although not husqvarna branded, absolutely brilliant! Nice warm boots in the morning, if boots are absolutely soaked they might still be bit damp but wearable, better than stuffing with paper.

 

The best option really is to have two pairs of boots, so you can let them dry properly while wearing the other pair though...

Newspaper and check periodically to replace wet paper for dry.

That's what I use, When I bought them, they were branded as Dampire, I know that the name of them has changed, but they're sold/stocked by SCUBA diving shops to dry out your dry suit.

 

Effectively they're about £20, for two socks full of silica gel. Put them in, they dry out the boots. Take them out and put them on the radiator/in the microwave or oven/on the windowsill and they're good to go again when you next need them.

I use a set of Thermic boot dryers. Designed for snowboard or Ski boots they are spot on for drying chainsaw boots. They blow warm air into the boots. Cost 30 to 40quid.
