06 transit tipper - new load bed needed

Im not sure why but its always the bodies with the alloy sides that go first! Paint comes off in massive flakes to reveal rusty underneath and then before you know it its rusty everywhere and holes are appearing!

 

Just to say my steel bed on my 56 transit is mint :001_smile:

 

Bad bodies the alloy n steel!

 

Its usually because they powder coat the steel but don't bother to fettle the guillotined edges. The powder coat goes thin over the edges then splits allowing water to live under the coating. Perfect recipe for rust.

I'm in exactly the same position with my 06 double cab.

Bed and bearers rotten.

 

Truck is great otherwise.

how did u get on with your enquiries mark

i looked at mine today and the under side of the tipping body is not good

 

Original manufacturer can supply everything but the bed and the subframe, the only two bits that are totally bolloxed!

 

If they had that they'd be about £1k and £1.8k respectively.

 

Going to see my local guy tomorrow.
