stihl 261 CM is the top of the range mid range saw, runs a 13 to 18" bar and 1.6mm chain, dont go cheap spend the money it will last you for many years also has a auto tune carb that will tune the saw to what ever work you use it for..

It is " first generation " Husqvarna A/T on the Stihl saws .........

only looked at the 365 on you tube and it looks like a big lump I'm after some thing the same size as the ms250 but a husqvarna

Hi

There is no comparison between a MS250 & a Husky 365, OK the 250 cuts well on a short bar and its handy when climbing but the 365 is a much better saw for firewood cutting in every aspect.

If you want a smaller Husqvarna then a 555 maybe an option but the 365 is only about 25 quid more.

I would avoid MS261s - they seem to have more than a fair share of reliability problems.

...and are large and clumcy for a 50cc saw, while the 550xp etc are really neat and well handling saws.

Well herd nothing from the guy with the 365 but I think the 365 or the 550 will be my next saw I was looking at the 550 with auto tune it also plugs in to a comp and gives a read out of hours of use ect so don't no if it can be worked on and serviced at home .

Maybe The old husky 162se I'm rebuilding at the moment could be the missing mid range saw I'm looking for time will tell :thumbup1:
