Thanks, do you kiln dry wood?

 

Yes using solar. Looked at biomass but kilns like the one at the APF are not approved for use in smoke controlled areas which we come under.

 

Nothing against using biomass if it was waste sawdust or chip etc but cannot see the point of kilns like the one at the APF which are only approved for RHI if you use logs with MC of less than 23% or waste wood with MC less than 18%. This means a large proportion of your kiln dried timber will be needed to fire the kiln especially when the kiln itself is so inefficient due to lack of insulation keeping the kiln at very low temperatures.
