Insurance for firewood business

I've been with Bryant and Kesek for 7 years and just found that the service is good. If I want to know something then I call and they tell me. If I want to add something I call and they add it on.

I never trust anyone who price matches. Give me your best price first.

Just to get back to the initial post I've built up a big stock of dry firewood this year and I'm almost thinking what happens if someone decides they want to see a big bonfire? Can you insure the wood itself? And does anyone else insure their wood?

It's stored in polytunnels and I wouldn't like to think what would happen if someone lit one end!!

how did you manage to insure the wood????

I just insured as a small business and the wood is stock, including nets its in etc, up to £8000. Just thought would be worth it in case of a fire,

I told the NFU details of what i wanted, they then get price from their head office, takes a few days to come back with price, Mike.

I got a quote from NFU just over £800 for employers (up to 2 people) and public liability, tool cover up to £10k and stock in transit up to £200. How ever they aren't sure if they can cover us for using hydraulic log splitter or cross cut saw! They want to know how often servicing takes place, training attended, safety precautions taken, safety features of the machines etc etc....... is this standard info to give to insurers? or are they being picky?

Don't you think that it a lot of hassle changing all the insurances each year for a few quid?? Not to mention sitting for a day getting quotes.

I rang the NFU from site, took about 10 minuets out of my day.:001_smile: I save just short of a grand and got tool cover included.:001_cool:
