Thought about doing that a few years ago but put off by the crap pay load asthe gross weight is oly max out at 2750(i think). dont get me wrong it will still be a usefull tool. The way around that would have been to use a disco commercial as they are rated to 3500kg but you have already chopped yours up.

 

I can't remember any of my disco commercials grossing more than the cars. They carry a little more weight as they are lighter to begin with.

Perhaps the D1 were rated higher does that match up with the vin plate under the bonnet. Over 3 tonne commercials need a class 7 mot. My local station has always moted my disco vans and they cant go over 3 tonne for vans. The payload was never great on any of them about 700kg inc driver. So if they weigh around 2300kg mt that would be about right for 3 tonne.
