Petrol log splitter

I'm thinking of investing in a 10t petrol log splitter this season.

I've always done my logs with a Gransfors maul and splitting axe, but my elbows are giving me hell at the minute. I also had a 5t electric splitter that got nicked, but it was pretty slow and lacked power.

 

Any advice appreciated.

 

I would also like it reasonably portable. As in could I drag one up my grinder ramps?

The model on Jonesies site is 125kg.

get 1,pumbed in to yr chipper ,treequip tell you how its done

Had one of those ten ton things off Jonesie about three years ago. Only use it for personal stuff and it's probably no quicker than by hand but it don't arf save your energy for other things.

 

Faultless so far.

Go on fuelwood web site I had 3 splitters of them over last ten years and have always been great product at great price

Only had mine since February, but would recomend Balfor's Vario, from Riko. Only a 9ton, around 100kg.

Log splitters come into there own on arb waste ideal for the tuff stuff etc and saves swinging an axe around too
