That is impressive... I could live with the bone-shaking cramped-ness for that kind of payload on a 3.5t truck. DVSA seem to be everywhere right now.
One of our tranny’s got pulled the other day.. 40 rolls of turf and a turf cutter, 3 guys - 800kg over.

Hi@TIMON, what was the outcome of being over if you don’t mind me asking?

£380 fine,  no points on the drivers licence, thankfully.. and the added cost/ time of pulling a crew off another job to go and collect the excess weight from the pulled truck.

Going to have ours on the scales before long and see what it actually comes in at as plated numbers aren't worth shit if your pulled.

I very occasionally help out chipping and brash dragging for a chap with a Canter, full arb sides and a tool box. He never lets me do a tip run in case I go to the weighbridge. I'm convinced it is so close to 3.5 tonnes just with 2 men and tools to make no difference empty. In 11 years he has never been pulled.

I have been told you also get added to a list so are more likely to get pulled in the future..

I wouldn’t be surprised given the technology available today. The depot in question is ‘hidden’ under the M5 J3 multi-agency, plod, HMRC and DVSA. Busy place...

A right little vipers nest....

Maybe a bit harsh I guess, it is safety related after all....

(must be the heat ‘getting’ to me....)

[emoji51] we should have a weight system, rule book that is actually in ‘sync’ with true manufacturers capabilities of trucks.
We have a Luton truck that is only good for transporting feathers or light foam when filled to capacity.
Couple of bits of furniture and it goes way over.
