I have to be careful wearing them when climbing though , if the sun ever gets behind me, my rope will catch fire.

if you get a chance go to kunnanara(prob spelt wrong) its a few hours south of darwin. they used to do a 'cannoe safari' down the gorge its 56km with few bivvy sites along the way, i did it 10 years ago and it was excellent.

 

if you fancy a few beers stop at alice springs and go to 'bojangles' always a good craic there.

 

coober pedy is worth a look (theres only about 5 buildings above ground, everything else is underground but the doors are on top{it looks like something out of a cartoon})

 

most of all DONT get stuck with guide book recommendations, just do what you want to do when you want to do it.

Just to put you straight Kununurra is 45 mins flying time from Darwin or nearly 900 kms south west by road
