Wet grass suggestions

I currently run a fs55 bull born and a Briggs Stratton 16 inch mower I think but I'm doing more and more overgrown lawns and there both starting to struggle. Would I be better buying a brush cutter or getting a grass cutting head for the strimmer?

My lawn mower I know needs upgrading I don't have a massive budget as I've only been doing it a year so something second hand would be good 100-200 just something aggressive to cut wet grass don't mind how heavy it is

Id be strimming that first with my Husky 545RX . No guard running 2 lengths of 4mm square Diamond Edge line . With no guard you can spin 8 or 9 inch lengths giving you a 16" or so swipe . You need 45cc or more though . So maybe a bigger more grunty strimmer ?

to make do with an under powered strimmer

if this makes sense i use the strimmer starting at the back and walking backwards

so it throws the grass onto already cut grass

rather than throw it onto uncut grass in front of you and your probably get away with all be it slowly the strimmer you already have

rake it up and then mow

not sure what your mower is like but if i have long grass to cut down i just use my husky mower, take the collection box off and use a bungie cord to hold open the rear outlet, not recomended for safety so do it at your own risk but never clogs up and will quite easly handle 3ft grass. strimmer wise there are bargins to be had, got my stihl fs400 for £30 8 years ago and still one of the best strimmers i own.

I did the same with mine last week, it was the first cut it has had since September. Never cloged. Left it on the ground for a week, picked it all up on Tuesday. Now just mow every two weeks as normal.
