A-ha! You found some of our other work - in Feb we found the UK's tallest tree - March we found England's tallest tree - and this trip was about the UK's tallest broadleaf. It's been an amazing journey so far... long may it continue!

Where was the tallest broadleaf then? Bryanston? beats me. Is it a plane of a syccie cant tell very well from the footage. Sounds great though, will have to go see that sometime

Haha... John, you know the 'secret tree' well - it's 50.20m / 165ft Wellingtonia. It's not really secret but the landowners have asked us to keep its location under our hats as there has been a lot of unauthorised climbing in recent years. The tree is actually showing signs now as well which is sad - loads of rope burn on the branches - some of it quite severe near the top... bad news.

 

Am i being thick....a wellintonia isnt a broadleaf....sorry- dont get it:confused1:

Tallest broadleaves are in the grounds of a big school near Blandford, at the end of the vid we climb and measure England's tallest Wellingtonia...
