Amazing sculptures

Saw these and was completely amazed at the detail, dont know if the guy uses a chainsaw I would have thought he would begin with one to remove the excess wood first, hope I have posted in the correct place.

 

I love the detail in them and to see them in woodland settings just adds to their beauty. Just a shame that these were destroyed in bush fire in feb 2009.

Been reading up a bit more not sure how much of his work is sculpted from clay.

I know he is a very talented Carver, I know he is trying to replace all of the pieces that were lost in the fire.
