Essentially, yes. The cranes come with linkage mounting, but they bolt to the trailer. So you would have to unbolt (I think 9 bolts) to remove the crane.

I'm not sure how that compares to the botex as I have never demounted a botex from a trailer.

 

I must admit though, I would be extremely wary of supplying a crane that lifts 3/4 ton at 7m out to be fitted on a linkage! I think you would start snapping linkage bits putting that sort of force on it.

 

 

the new telescopic hedge cutters are now being sold with direct mounting kits to the back axle

not as in permenant but to reduce the strain on the 3pl and make them more rigid perhaps looking at and fabricating a similiar bracket may be a good root

Yes, this is what I have been recommending. I have supplied a couple on linkage mount and advised the customer that they ought to make brackets to stiffen it against the tracor back end. I still think you are better off having it on the trailer, but appreciate that isnt always the best solution.
