I've been doing weights for over 30 years.

The tennis elbow issue flared up years ago after using Yale Blaze for a while (climbing old school with my arms), but I can usually control it.

 

I'm pretty set on the Cougar Blue but Treestuff are out of stock. Damn!

What exercises to you find counter the repetitive strain of rope work?

 

I've been climbing on blaze for a while and my left elbow really feels it. Hyper extension from martial arts pad work exacerbates it too

You know, I'm not sure but I believe kettle bell swings and circuit was the biggest help. It kind of calls up all the muscles. But I can't climb on anything less than 11.7 either. Yale 11.7 for me all the way.

There is a 100% static Kernmaster btw. It's called tech kern.

I hear you on the super static stuff.. In my ideal world Yale would make a kernmaster that has the same stretch properties as cougar blue, with 11.5mm diameter and the same tightly braided cover as kern.

why would they though? the design of kernmaster is to be dynamic under a shock load yet almost static under a static load. and which cougar blue?-every batch is sooo different

i used to want the 11mm to be a bit bigger.7 more but realised it just adds up to more weight on long ropes and the 11mm flows through gear better

hmm lets not go into this debate again each to their own.

 

I do love 11mm through the gear but my hands cant take it Drew. 11.7 is a struggle on cold or wet days.

 

Maybe I should have a crack at the 12mm kern and whats more I would be less load as a proportion of the MBS, so potentially would get less bounce out of it?!
