Thats not a gall thats a leaf roller :001_smile:

 

Au contraire Mr Quercus-Hominid, Both Forest Research & The British Plant Gall Society have it listed as a leaf gall. :001_tongue:

 

 

Here you are two galls on sallow leaves. I was reading a book this morning which said there are 92 british galls and 30 of them are found on oak trees.:001_smile:

 

Interesting stats, which Book?

One of the Chaps found this little quirksome hosting upon a Beech leaf.

 

Not 100% sure but leaning like the big ole white lump of masonary in northern tuscany, toward it being..........

 

gall midge - Mikiola fagi

Put that leaf on a white plinth and it would be a work of art in one of Londons finest art galleries that would.:thumbup1:
