Just get some cougar blue mate. Low stretch, Stella compatible, great for SRT and the other type (I forget the name), developed down under by VB drinkers.

Mark I've made my own HAAS and have no issues like your describing. Only difference is I have a croll instead. I get 2 feet off the floor and it slips through beautifully on Tachyon. Maybe the rope like you said.

If I bump into you at one of the shows I'd be interested to see how you got on, since I love the logic of a decent ascent system but I'm too much of a commitophobe to invest in a system which may not work in all those 40" connies I specialise in.
