Mark I've made my own HAAS and have no issues like your describing. Only difference is I have a croll instead. I get 2 feet off the floor and it slips through beautifully on Tachyon. Maybe the rope like you said.

I can only imagine its the rope at fault Mark.

If you've paid attention to your leg/foot position and angles then there is nothing else.

clip a throwbag/can of stella on the bottom of your line so it hangs just off the ground

 

A full can of Stella won't work for Mr Bolam 'cos he'll drink the Stella before he gets his harness on!

If I bump into you at one of the shows I'd be interested to see how you got on, since I love the logic of a decent ascent system but I'm too much of a commitophobe to invest in a system which may not work in all those 40" connies I specialise in.
