The husky stuff was designed with the new saws, I liken it to merc in f1.. engine and car built in unison = results.. same with the huskys

It definitely does make an improvement in the running of the machine, it's a shame dealers don't recommend it when purchasing the saws. Mind you I did think it was a bit of a gimic, surely all 2 stroke is the same etc etc. I wouldn't go back to another 2 stroke now

Last update to this thread, since replacing the breather part, I've not had a single symptom of leaking / flooding. Further to this I ran out of Husky 2 stroke and went back to Stihl HP. The 540 ran so much better on Husky LS+, as soon as I had fired a couple of tanks of Stihl mix through it I started to have little niggles when starting: saw taking more pulls than usual, not necessarily starting the first couple of times when carrying out a warm start on half revs etc etc.

So if your having starting / runnin issues with your 540 id recommend using husky 2 stroke in your mix. LS+ is a low smoke oil too, I noticed the difference in fumes when I went back to Stihl HP too.

All the best

Have you tried the new Aspen2 FRT?

It uses a higher spec oil than HP and XP with a more complete burn of the oil & even cleaner running than Aspen2.

Plus all the benefits of Aspen fuel.

If you have started running FRT please give me your feed back.

All the best Eddie

Run both my T540's on Aspen 2 from new. No starting problems. But the saw definitely cools down fast, preferring dismantles to pruning work. The latter doesn't let it warm up and choke starts become commonplace.

No sign of FRT up here yet, Eddie.
