My OH 60 seems to get thru most stuff. Have had issues with trying to 4 way split Oak with multiple branch junctions in, but a couple of goes on 2 way split and they're done.

Biggest issue I've had is doing short logs and them not ending up straight in the trough, or branch wood that gets cut with an angled end and can ride up the splitting blade rather than splitting.

Straight, fresh wood of any flavour is both easier and faster.

I used to have a hakiki pilke hawk, which I think was 5.5 tonne pressure and that did most stuff on 4 way at about 8 inch long. There was a 6 way knife available for it but it had to be really straight grained for it to do 6 way.

Ditto the striaight wood being best - branch wood can be a pig.
