Hi Steve, I am neither a business owner or professional, I have a smallholding which includes a parcel of woodland from which I get my firewood from.

I am self-taught and have been using a chainsaw for the past 30 years.

My first chainsaw was a Dolmar 114 which has served me well and is still going to this day. My next saw was a bargain buy brand new Husqy 372 a couple of years back from Ebay which the guy had only just bought before giving the business up, he had made a mistake in the description of the saw, I spotted what it really was and bagged it for just over £200.

Although self-taught I am VERY careful when using the saw and wear all the safety clothing at all times no matter how small the job is, I was even mocked by a so-called professional who turned up while I was felling a tree for a mate........then he proudly showed me a gap in his hand where a finger should have been!!!!.

The 372 I find is an excellent saw, and very powerful compared to the Dolmar and wish I had bought a big saw earlier. I recently felled an oak tree which was 24ins at the base and was amazed at the ease at which it ripped through it.

In case you are wondering why it was felled it was because it was leaning over after the last strong winds we had.

So although not a professional like the rest of you guys I hope to contribute in my own way to the forum.
