Hiya Ray

Is that the cheque you sent weeks ago?

As I wont be using a die grinder day in day out I was wondering (shoulda started a new thread) is the 400W Makita GD0600 would be any good?

I had that die grinder but changed to the makita die grinder gd0800c what a difference. Especially with the speed settings twice as powerful. I no it's a bit more but we'll worth the extra.

Thanks for the £ Ray it will probably be with postie today :)

Ross, nice grinder but twice the price.

My 6mm shaft eye tools will work with a drill, slower but works fine. My die grinder being dead I tried it and it worked really well on a bear. Lots of pressure needed but it soon smoked up.

i finally got round to trying an eye burner in a dremel. not been able to do anythign for a month+ after my latest operation but the K-wires got pulled out end of last week and in past few days i started working teh hand again. Opinion... well, it can cut a reasonable circle but it just dosnt have the grunt to burn the proper eye. Ill post pics later on. Its a shame but i guess die-grinder is the only way to go :(

Finally got round to making up a few sizes of eye tools all on a 1/4" shank. I'm also playing about with the idea of iris rings/pupils but TBH a dome seems just as affective to look at.

I firstly spun them up using a 240V drill which whilst worked didn't really give the burned look I wanted but then remembered I have a small die grinder type tool in a draw and that works really well.
