Was having this conversation with someone down here last week. Not long was the answer we came up with. There was allegedly a waiting list for stoves in some places a few months back!!

I sell it by the cube metre. £70.00 a cube delivered. I stick to this price and get ready customers. Others have undercut me however, (nobody on arbtalk) but customers came back to me after they found the wood was crap/unseasoned.

 

To me, if you have sufficient storage you can basically call it a long term investment. Unless you really need the cash, wait for your local prices to increase and sell then. If I get stuck for income I can therefore drop prices accordingly.

Totally depends on location and competition.

Hoping to sell mine (mixed hardwood) this winter 0.2 cubic metre sacks for £20 each, delivered to rear of house if wanted on a sack truck. This will work out at £100 per cubic metre.

A local supplier is selling (softwood) in bulk bags (0.5 cubic metres ) for £50

well aye... theres another 200 tons of softwood in the other field and 75 ton of hardwood in the barn....
