I currently have a Samsung clp 315, only had it a few months but so far im very happy with it. Can't remember how much it cost me but its well within your price range. I bought mine from amazon.

the world's smallest colour laser printer CLP-315 - Colour printers - print solutions | SAMSUNG

The only downside is that the paper in feed tray sticks out at the bottom.

DONT BUY A KODAK.

nothing but problems with it, had it over a year.

bought a hp all in one FP4280 for under £30 and its fantastic. good quality photo prints too and it came with full ink tanks not the usual taster inks which last 10 seconds

Id go for a laser from one of the majors like HP or Epsom. I got one in my final year at uni and it was brilliant and Ive never replaced the laser toner. Apparently you get around 2k copies to each one. I think its alot less hastle than a inkjet, especially if you only use it occasionally as the toner doesnt dry like I found with an inkjet.
