We don't have ladders so throw line is essential . I was using marlow but that is my rough line as it has many knots I just brought the stein kit and am really pleased it's nice and neat and tidy now . I through both single and double and after a lot of practice I'm fairly good at it . Still not comfortable with the term double bagging though lol;) .

As boring as it may sound but we really don't have enough information or techniques on the subject of what I'd call a very important part of a climbers bag of tricks.

So who uses them?

What line and weights are you using?

What style throw do you practice?

Are there many big shot fans?

How are you connecting the throw line and weight together?

Are you accurate?

And do you carry more than one?

There's probably loads of other questions I haven't thought of, so a nice compilation on the art of throw bagging from climbers around the world should at least give an insight into the subject for beginners and pros alike :)

I'll add all mine soon but feel free to add yours right below here :)

yep I use one

line is marlow 10 0z and 12 0z

single hand to my right

like the big shot but dont have the cash or enough of a reason to justify it.

tie a loop with a fig of 8 in the end of the line and larks foot it to the metal ring on the throwline

not bad but not great

well 2 bags 1 cube and 50m of line seems to be enough for me. if you have a rope with a spliced eye then a throw weight and a krab are a useful addition to help you ALT technique your way up a tree if there are big gaps.

May I ask what is the idea of having a bag on each end?

Quick and easy way of isolating an anchor point :)

Loving the feed back guys thanks for the interest :) I too share the same passion as Dan, I'll get my pictures maybe even a little video up tomorrow :)

I find I either get it perfect on first or second throw or it goes completely to pot and ends up in the next county and I can't get it right for love nor money, love hate relationship with em. And it always seems to be bad when the clients watching!
