eye protection

I have a standard mesh visor on my helmet and lately i have been finding I still get a few woodchips going into my eyes, it may be something to do with all the high winds we are getting when we are working! But i need something to help stop this from happening as i don't want my eyes to get damaged.

Anyone got any suggestions as to what i could wear maybe some googles/specs?

Cheers, James

Swap the visor for a pair of safety glasses. I hate visors. They get in the way, get trashed, and still let sawdust through.

I use the Stein yellow glasses. Tough, cheap (around £8), and the world just seems to be happier through a yellow filter.

Get a couple of pairs, you will lose them!

I recently got a stick in my eye and ripped my cornea. I was half way through a job and had to finish it. I was by myself :(

I have never been in so much pain.

It took 5 weeks and numerous trips to the eye hospital to get over this. I thought I had blinded myself.

Take care of your eyes and don't take them for granted please.

Wear goggles

Bolles. Found them to be the best anti fog and they are wrap around. Don't bother with a visor now; glasses do a much better job. Get several pairs if you can afford it. Yellow, clear and a pair of shades.

What he said.

The Bolle Silium is my weapon of choice, the arms are plain and don't interfere with the ear defenders (much) unlike some others.

Yellow lenses are great for making a dull northern day look better

Wisewood. I wear glasses. I brought some bolle goggles to fit over the top. Ok for a period of time.

They do some wrap around specs with prescription inserts in them which I am looking at getting.

Cheers Harry, I have to check out prescription safety glasses.
