what would you charge for this?

Recommended Posts

Its for someone my dad used to work with, he said it was some 18 inch trunks to cut down when we were passing:001_rolleyes:

Hes seen the one's I have done, and has asked me to just get them finished and let him know how much he owes.

Not the way I like to go about charging, but things do have to be got on with sometimes I suppose.

to cut off just below ground level I would be looking at £130 (half day rate plus 2xchains) but I would recommend grinding to the customer

Sounds a fair price :001_smile: Tad more if removing any waste .

Save yourself a bit of time sharpening chains by taking of the bark with a mattock & brush the stumps to remove as much dirt as possible, failing that dig them out with a mattock. Done this once, before I bought a stumpy, never again. You don't just knacker chains, the dirt can get into all manner of places on your saw.
