going rate for employed climber in NZ

Recommended Posts

With the top rate for an experienced climber working out at 15 pounds per hour, I can only hope the cost of living is a bit cheaper than here. 5 pounds a pint is london prices Drew!

You will be lucky to get $22 + as a new bie on the scene but given a good proven climber you might get up to 26/27 in orks but obviously contracting would be more.

That's how I saw it not so long ago.

It's long hours on the books and they like to get good value for money.

Good luck

Make sure you head to raglan for surf

Wage vs Living costs I found more favorable in Scandinavia. When I worked at home last time,I was on the same money as Eleven years prior and the cost of living had doubled since then.

Your going there for the experiance, not the Money anyway.

Auckland is one of the most expensive cities in the world to live due to the high housing costs and low wages. $30 an hour would be the exception rather than the rule unless, as already stated, you're contracting but then you'll have associated expenses such as ACC etc. $23-25 is deemed a good wage in the smaller centres but starting wage may e less.

Average house price in aucks is $630 000. No, Auckland is a very expensive city to live in. Auckland wages are higher but it's still a killer expensive place
