Shame your banned, I'd like to have had a discussion with you on staff welfare and motivation.

We pay for a full 3-4 course restaurant meal most days for our staff.

If not, a huge baguette and a sticky bun.

We also have a modest slush fund for bonus payments, presents and nights out.

Anyone claiming to work non stop no breaks no lunch etc. is obviously grafting really hard....

I do some days mate, but then I go home and have elevenses, then lunch, walk the dog in the afternoon, maybe a nap. Can't beat smashing a little job out by 10am:sneaky2:

We currently work 8.30 - 4.30 it's always been OK as we've been a small team and efficient at getting out of the yard quickly. We mostly work local and as most people don't like saws before 9 am it's worked well.

As we've expanded I found that more guys tends to mean more faff and leaving the yard is taking longer. I am contemplating bringing in an 8 o'clock start. )

I am working out how much extra it is going to cost me in wages. It works out about £1000 a year per man.... I have 4 guys.

It just reinforces my views about stopping for breakfast/to buy lunch having a tea before work... etc.. ect.

Hi Ben,

this is where I'm going wrong..... I'm the worst, breakfast rolls & coffee on route, non-stop coffee whilst there.

I make as much coffee & tea has they can drink.

Never had to encourage speed of work, never had any worries of asking a bit more, its just happens.

Got to say any losses are far outweighed by the gains. Also pay good money!

There are few on here who i have shared many mugs, sarnies, & brunches.

If I wanted a job that made me lots of money this would not be it, I wanted one that I enjoyed doing with likeminded people.
