Who runs a 3 phase firewood processor

Hi, we updated our processor and now run it on 3 phase, there is no comparison,

it's a much more pleasant operating experience, less noise, no fumes, every bit as much power, you also gain space where the tractor would have been sitting and it's easier to keep the processor clear of sawdust.

I run a 1X42 on 3phase.

 

As timjmac said, a lot quieter, efficient and way more easier to clear out the sawdust as it piles up pretty fast. Only problem I find is the splitting ram doesn't pack as much punch when compared to running on PTO, I'd guess maybe 20/30% less power, no idea why but only struggles with extremely knotty sections or hardwood such as hornbeam over 12'' diameter.

 

Only really worth it if you keep your processor kept in a permanent spot as I hate moving the processor around with the forktruck/telehandler, its so rocky and tippy making it vulnerable to denting or worse.
