She drove fine I went through the steering and brakes.

I think they were well ahead of their built in 1939 full air brakes and she was fitted with high ratio diffs so would do 54 mph flat out but was more than happy doing 45 mph.

I used to drive it just over 200 miles each way to the Dorset steam fair in 7 hrs with stops.

Just found this picture of my old matador with the trailer she worked with ! wish I still had it. last time I saw her she was in the Northampton area has anyone seen her ?

 

how long ago was it when you saw her in the northants area? my mate had one in northants, hes still got her but its in france now.

 

he must of got her between 15 to 20 years ago (at a guess)

It was on ebay about 2 years ago still painted as shown in the picture and still had my name on it having changed hands a couple of times since I sold it about 15 years ago.I went to see it the guy had a buy it now price I did not tell him that I had owned it and that it was my name still on it.When I got there at 8am he had then changed his mind from 6 pm the night before and said he was swapping it for a Scammel !!! I have not heard or seen anything of it since
