You're buggered now though Eddie, stihl have decided to introduce motomix to the market, still, a bit of healthy competition ;)

It is a testament to Aspen sales that Stihl are now introducing Motomix to the UK market, where, until recently, they thought there was no demand.

I think Stihl,s decision will be seen by many as an endorsement of Alkylate fuel, particularly amongst the doubters, who have sometimes stated that warranty is void when using Aspen.

This always was erroneous, but now, with Stihl recommending Alkylate, many doubts will be put to rest and ALL alkylate fuels will be taken much more seriously and its use will soon become the norm.

The question will then be "which one to buy?"

Aspen, which has often been branded as too expensive, now becomes the cheaper alternative to Motomix which is priced at £20 per 5 litres.

The oil in Aspen is also higher grade at JASO FC, as opposed to Stihls which is only FB rated.

Interesting times ahead methinks, let battle commence.

Of course though, if you want straight four stroke Alkylate, Aspen is still the only option.

I was told that stihl moto mix was made in the same place as Aspen.

I was looking at the two side by side, and couldnt find anything in Stihl moto mix that stood out from Aspen.

As you said the price ,the slightly less grade etc worked out to be against Stihl.

Can't get aspen up here

Hi Hotrod,

Give me the name of the dealer you use and I will see if they want to sell Aspen.

We have increased our dealer numbers by over 60 in the last 12 months.

I am working hard to get more dealers to fill in the gaps in our coverage of the UK.

All the best

Eddie

Hi Dan,

I have been to the Aspen factory and they only make ASPEN! there are no other names on bottles in factory and if people remember when Aspen was sold by Husqvarna the can said Aspen with Husqvarna in smaller writing under it.

Aspen2 uses a higher spec oil as has already been pointed out.

I fully agree with Barrie that Stihl will help Alkylate fuels and Pre mix 2-stroke more widely know and this will help sales of both products.

Just remember you can have Aspen delivered direct to your place of work!

I am always here for help or advise.

Kind regards

Eddie
