I find with the smaller hedges I am competing with gardeners who can manage them. They charge £15 / hr and I charge double that at least per bloke, so kit likely to win them. A 1.8m high hedge is within the capabilities of most gardeners I would have thought?

sinse found out that the quote is £250,and i know for a fact that he isnt selling the clippings, the same guy did the same job 2 years ago for £700 wtf,someones playing silly buggers i think,hes welcome to it for £250

sounds like he is playing you both off to see if one of you will do it cheaper. sounds like shipping wars on tv. as you say not worth doing the job, so cheap you come out with nowt.

was asked to quote to cut a lyandi hedge 25ft tall and 300mtrs long top and sides. quoted £500 that was hireing a mewp. said he had someone doing it cheaper. how cheap do you go i thought £500 was a bit cheap for job. as it would have taken two of us two days to cut and take brash to his fire.

next time he asks it will be the proper price to do job.

 

You sound way to cheap mate, £500 to cut a 300m hedge for 2 men taking 2 days and a keep?? You wouldn't make anything on that surely? Unless you got the mwep for free and you didn't make anything.
