I got a blackthorn really deep in my finger once, it made my whole finger swell up really big for a month then i had it cut out at the hospital and had 3 stitches! i get them all over my fingers and arms whilst chipping! allways when i take my gauntlets off!! the best thing to do is keep a really sharp knife on you at all times! and as soon as you feel a thorn, cut it out and squeese the area really hard as soon as you can, the longer you leave in in your skin the worse it gets, believe me!!:001_cool:

I have just read that in rare cases, blackthorn poisoning can lead to loss of the limb if it is not treated...

Not sure I believe it, and I happened upon this thread while trying to find out, but I thought I'd share with you.
