Stihl ms150 Pruning Saw

Recommended Posts

Just bought the ms150 the other day - it's really nice to use.

The power is obviously not up to the 020 standard but it comes with a tiny baby chain which improves cutting speed - I was surprised, it's not a bad little saw at all.

My mate has a small Makita DCS230T so we decided to make a video of them against one another, place your bets now......

According to the makita ops manual, chain speed is 15m/s :(

Vibrations levels are comparable tho... at around 5ms2

Makita looks like it needs a sharpen, the operator is pushing a fair bit

Or it's just a slow saw, it's a pruning saw after all
