Hi, I'm new to arb talk and the arb industry. I'm looking for a good medium powered saw for general use and feeling. Then a bigger saw for larger trees, ect. Any advices would be usefull I was looking at Stihls but as the nearist dealer to me is 20 miles away (40 return) I'm thinking of blowing that ideas off!! Now Im looking at the Husqvarna 550 xp and the 372xp. Any advices or other input would be of great help!

P.s dose any one know why stihl has done this? It seems a bit stupid from wear I'm sitting they are going to lose a lot of business from small businesses and people in general.

Sthil ms 261 plenty of power or a 550xp which are also very good, a bit hard to start but once they are on are great with plenty of power. But to be honest there is nothing between Stihl or husqy just user preference and what you find handles nice.

Try a couple out if you can and compare and make your own mind up. Good luck

I have a 372 ( spud ported ) and a 346 ( also spud ported ) . The 346 is the forerunner to the 550 . . Also , amongst a lot of others I have a 560 . I am over the moon with my 560 ( petemate ported ) but some people have had problems . I think that the 550 and 372 would be a very good mix . If you choose them spud can do a superb job of porting the 372 !

I've got 2x346.

1x372.

If I had to have just 1 saw, 346 every time.

You can do 90% of the felling you will ever have to do with it, and it's a joy to use.

It's also nice and light.

Always the first saw I pick up.
