In the last picture I can't quite make out but is a mixture of oak and treated timber?

 

It is a mix, as the client needed to get the project finished in a hurry.

 

At some stage it is going to ripped out and I then have to construct a rustic style oak staircase and gallery area. :) (another job to try an fit in)

 

i used to do the bases for one of the barn suppliers

 

That was how I drifted into oak framing. I did just the same as you, then figured that making frames was the easier option and went from there. :)

This is whats been paying my bills for the last 4 months. Old stable converted into a classroom/ function room. All lime/hemp plaster, lime washed. Wood fibre insulation and wall boards, old doors converted to one French door and one curved window. Pellet stove heating it and accimodation next door. Nearly done. Oak floor and fiddling to go.
