But i openned the lock on my landy with a flathead screwdriver and a hammer

 

If they'd done that it might have been easier, the lock barrel was removed. Found it lying on the ground at the back. Don't know how they did it as there's no marks around it, no dents etc. The last time I tried to do it it took me about an hour!

 

I've gone and ordered myself a big security dead-bolt type thing to lock the stable door after the horse has bolted.

I got 3 saws nicked last year!

Got out this morning to discover the back of the Land-Rover broken into and 3 saws missing:

Stihl MS 660; Husky 560xpg; Husky 346xp.

 

Stolen last night from Arnprior, Stirlingshire.

 

If anyone local gets offered a saw from the list I'd be very pleased to hear from you.

 

Seems quite a specific theft, nothing else was taken so be on the lookout and keep your kit well secured.

we wnet away 5yrs ago on our honeymoon to NZ, bastards cleared me right out of ALL kit.

quick way to loose 10K in a month

 

What a thing to come home to!

 

Always a shame to hear of folk loosing kit, saws, whatever to thieves.

 

On the plus side, a bloke I used to work with had two saws stolen from the garage, almost a year later he got them back, recovered in a police raid, so it's possible, unlikely, but possible to get things back. I'm not holding my breath on this though, I think they're gone for good unfortunately.

sorry to hear abt the theft...w**k*rs! i use a long quality motorcycle chain when leaving gear in my landy.locked up to a solid part of the truck,never overnite though.

i know other guys who have had gear nicked from the back of the trucks when in slow traffic so we always secure the tools together with tool strops/lanyard/karabiner..

I know I'm stupid for leaving them in there, but I still think that it is responsibility of people NOT TO STEAL STUFF, not my responsibility to secure it. I make no bones about it, yes I made a daft mistatke but this is not my fault - the fault and the blame lies with the people (I'm being generous and still crediting them with being members of the human race) who stole them.

Someone round my way had 2 saws stolen from the back of their mog on weds. Think it'll be better if the courts came down harder on the crims when caught. No deterrent, no need fer them to worry:banghead:

Bad news indeed mate , I'd have thought you'd have been safe enough out there , quiet bit . Just shows you , scum everywhere .
