came across some kiln dried logs (in plastic bag) in local farmers store, aimed at the bbq/chiminea market. Seems rather pointless spending energy forcing out that little bit extra moisture when you don't really need to. just about any wood dried down to a moisture content of 25% or less is perfect for burning any way

I was wondering if any one had any advice on Kilns, my firewood business is doing well, but I thought about trying to look at different markets for logs.

Does anyone have any experience of kiln dried logs and is there a market out there for them.

Thanks in advance

Matthew

tried this 3 years ago.. had a old wood burner conected to a large metal shed.

the heat went into the metal shed part dried the logs and exited through a flue in the roof... was a good seller but (very time consuming)

exactly the same here, got to keep an eye on the stove whilst working so the fire dont die down.

buy bigger capacity machine and produce more split wood before the summer
