Mf595 and leyland 282

Dipping into the experience of the forum again. Are the 595's as bad as people say? Can't help but think if it's made it this far in its life it's a good one. Bad ones long gone. No ideas on leyland but hear turbo issues.

 

Any thoughts?

HI MATE yes mf 595 say away from gear box but the 590 is a better tractor go for a mf 165 do you need a 4wd mate thanks jon

I have had both 595 mk 2 and a 590 t , there both great bits of kit but the 590 is better its a smaller tractor tho , the 590 is up for sale

HI DAVE mf 590 is a good old tractor mate you need to look for non muti power as they can go T.TS UP MATE AND SET IN LOW GEAR IT WILL RUN AWAY THANKS JON

Balliberg- what do you intend to use the tractor for specifically?

 

Early on me and my mate had a 590- it was a god awful clunky piece of junk. Too big to be manouverable, bad steering lock, not enough power for it's size. Even the old International 454 is more pleasant to spend an afternoon in. Replaced the 590 with a 3080, and then replaced that with a Same 110HP.

 

I just think it's too big for a yard tractor, and not enough power for a fieldwork tractor. A loader would be nasty on it, with the gearbox and rubbish steering lock.

 

If you tell us what you want to do with the tractor (exact jobs) then perhaps we can advise better?

Thanks for your thoughts. I came to pretty much the same conclusion. I've found the right machine for me now and it's winging its way to me....

 

At least it will be when I find a haulier to shift it!

 

I found a reasonable Ford 4000 with loader. Tin work needs attention but no worries.
