'Flex Tether' for the RW

Recommended Posts

No probs, I'll splice together the slide show of whats needed and how to throw it together and knock one up yourselves. The first cost me 30 od bucks OZ but I had enough materials to make another couple.

It looks like a great idea. What sort of spring did you use to make it?

I just made one. Mine I used 8mm sterling prussik that I stitched to go around the Zk-1 bolt. Then I took a piece of flexible tubing 5/8" in place of the spring. Over that a stretched and old piece of rigging line cover over the tubing. Will post pics tonight:)

This is one I tried with a tenex prussik but was too short. Here is the flexible tubing I used Then used the outer sheath over some old rigging line I had on hand. ade6abuz.jpgLast I just used about a 1/4 of a roll of electrical tape on each end. 5ezu6a4u.jpgIt is not much for looks but I need to play with it in the tree. nyruda3a.jpg played with it on pull up bar and seems to tend very well and grab consistently.

Sorry Gerbutt I missed your post mate. Just a normal coil spring with an inside OD of roughly 11mm (to accomadate 2 x 6mm accessory cords). I purchased a long length and cut and file to suit. I'll get the specs and post with a slide show of how shortly.

Cheers,

Tony

Good work bud! Once you've loaded it good and proper a few times the inner rope will stretch a little. You may then be able to pull it up over the top hole on the HC, allowing you to use the middle hole to attach your chest harness too 👍
