a neighbour asked one of the lads for a quote whilst I was up a tree the other week...I got down and went to see him during a break...with an orange hi viz on...he went to take my clipboard from me and said 'Oh!, I thought you were the postman!' :001_tongue:

Many years ago people stopped using orange hi-vis jackets as in some artificial light they would look black, so no use, hence the move to yellow. But I don't think you get this affect with modern lights.

Orange

NRGO

network Rail Goat Orange (not many goats on the net work)

the old BR then NR safty operationg procedures and rules require Goat orange to be worn with the neccesary number of 3m reflective stripes on legs and jaket at all times when on the network.

Saturn Yellow pigment no A-17N

New road street works act & old chapter 8 . Hi viserbility clothing 'will usuallly be satern yellow' and configured in acordance with apendix ............

the apendix gives you number of stripes, arms no arms etc.

A number of years aago there was amove to 2 tome jaets as we were becomming yello blind. so on the HW by virtue of ra you could justify the orange but must have 3m stripes in the right places.

on the railway and underground.. goat onley baaaaaaaaaaa

of cource the other differance is yellow and orange are adjacent eachother on a standard color wheel
