Bulk chain rolls?

Hi guys,

Can anyone advise if it is much more cost effective to buy a reel of chain and the connecting equipment than just to buy single ready made chains? Seem to spend a fortune on chains!

Cheers

I looked at this and when you factor in the tools to spin and break rivets and the rivets arent proportionally cheap. You need to be getting through some chain and/or fixing for others. It wasn't effective for me to do.

What would be good if those who had such kit were on a directory on this forum, it could work well on a local level.

It would but then why not go to a shop and buy a chain? Surely local people with the kit would still charge you for the chain and the time to make it just as shops do. Also we rarely seem to find time to make our own chains let alone do others. So not sure if it would work I'm afraid...

Yes I used to buy 73lp chain in reels and there were always more than enough presets and tie straps with the reel. I will admit that my joints often weren't as good as shop made ones. Then I would have been making a couple a week.

I didnt realised they included these. I once priced up chain and bits separately, therefore cheaper then I worked it out. So that is better.:001_rolleyes:
