There are more qualified Rope Wrench experts than me but my thoughts.

Make a stiff tether, it will help self tend. Don't bother with the set up in the last picture its not worth the effort your loosing the 1:1 advantage.

Enjoy and welcome to the future of tree work!

Yup ... got get me self a stiff tether but the soft one has worked well enough so far the last set up i only use when i want to do a rather large branch walk as i gives the system of being able to keep my weight constantly in my system. All in all the system works well and is alot more energy saving. Here in Auz working in the heat and stupidly large gums it makes a hell of a difference then any ddrt. Advice get stiff get a stiff tether cool thanks will do.

I can't splice, so this is what I made up.... Pinto allows me to use a simple 13mm nylon loop sling wrapped in 2 layers of heat shrink, cost pennies, took minutes. Only disadvantage is you're limited to available sling lengths, this one is 30cm which is about right for me. Could knock an inch off really. I found the Petzl william biner to be wide enough to accommodate everything and is fairly symmetrical.

Picture 3 is very good for long branch walks back in.

Good use of gear already on the harness too, I use a croll and foot loop alongside the pantin for ascent, never re-used it in that application, will remember that, always have a revolver on me anyway... :thumbup1:
