You’d just need to have the central weight biased to towards the rear axle to lift the front up, don’t think it’s biased past the tailgate to self tip, would have stopped him going on the road had it done that though!

The front part is an trailer but it carries the weight of the trailer so not illegal.

7 A heavy motor car or a motor car not described in item 1, 3 or 4 2 trailers if one of them is a towing implement and part of the other is secured to and either rests on or is suspended from that implement, 1 trailer in any other case

So could we class a chipper as a agriculture implement so tow a hulking great chipper behind a silages trailer behind a tractor?

For forestry work of course

Any copshop will have a copy. From memory, tandem trailers ok, trailer & implement ok. As to appeal to agri registration or the ordering of what you haul done by weight, size, etc, then experience & trained competence should answer that - which in your case is not in question, given your advertised kit 🙂

I think the whole law about towing agriculture / forestry trailers and machines needs to be the same as it is in other countries, we run the same spec tractors as them and still we have restrictions on what we can do.

You can tow two trailer with a tractor as long as

1, both trailers are empty.

2, both trailers are agri implement.

3, one is a trailer & one is an implement.

You need the middle unit to be rated to tow the rear unit & all weight MAMS MLPM Axle weights & GTW must be complied with.
