First of all I must apologise for my ignorance.

When I was a teenager I got drunk on bells whisky and from then on even the slightest whiff of whisky turned my stomach.

It wasn't till last week when a friend managed to persuade me to have a snifter of his hip flask which had in some whisky from the highlands that smelt of tcp.

This is where my apologies come in, I was ignorant enough to think that whiskies all tasted the same. This stuff, despite its smell exploded a load of flavours on my palate that got me interested in the stuff.

I want to experiment and would like someone to recommend something on the lines of a more fruity type whisky as I had a snifter of some Dalmore 18 and liked it, but at £80 a bottle ..?

Anyone got any faves and what tastes does it impart

Some if the Japanese single malts are really good! Defiantly worth a try

If you want to try a few check out Drinking Classes or Dramatic Whisky

They run Whisky tastings all round the country, if you get a taste for that they do gin, rum and tequila aswell!

There's normally a good deal on living social:thumbup:

You were safer with the taste and smell of wet Scotch Terrier, but now you have been hooked. If you can find a pub with a good selection of malts, you will have hours of endless entertainment deciding which is your favourite, from Laphroaig (nearly neat diesel but awesome) to Highland Park from Orkney there is one for every occasion.
